Classification and spectral analysis of faint central stars of highly excited planetary nebulae

چکیده
We present narrow-band images of nine planetary nebulae (PN) and a spectral analysis of four of their central stars (CSPN) by means of model atmosphere techniques based on medium-resolution optical spectra. Four of our CSPN are unambiguously identified. They are very hot (Teff > 100 kK) and have about 1 2 times solar He/H abundance ratios. (the exciting stars of PN G214.9+07.8, PN G231.8+04.1, PN G283.6+25.3, PN G293.6+10.9). Three other of our PN are candidates for Abell 35-like objects: The supposed central stars of PN G257.5+00.6 and PN G277.1−03.8 exhibit F-type spectra while probably the hotter exciting star escapes detection in the optical. Absorption features is the spectrum of the central star of PN G283.6+25.3 suggest the presence of a cool companion. The images of PN G277.1−03.8 display two close stars at its center which both show F-type spectra. It appears likely that this is a binary system but better spectra and additional UV spectra are required in order to successfully identify the exciting central star.

Turbulent planetary nebulae around [ WC ] – type stars ⋆
Through a high-resolution spectroscopic survey, we analyze the velocity field of 16 planetary nebulae with [WC]or wels-type nuclei in comparison with 8 nebulae having other central star types. We found spectral evidence for finite turbulent velocities in [WC]-type planetary nebulae superimposed on an essentially constant expansion velocity pattern. The nebulae around O-type stars show no eviden...
متن کاملFluorescent Excitation of Spectral Lines In Planetary Nebulae
Fluorescent excitation of spectral lines is demonstrated as a function of temperatureluminosity and the distance of the emitting region from the central stars of planetary nebulae. The electron densities and temperatures are determined, and the method is exemplified through a detailed analysis of spectral observations of a high excitation PN, NGC 6741, observed by Hyung and Aller (1997). Fluore...
متن کاملClassification of Iso Sws01 Spectra of Proto-planetary Nebulae: a Search for Precursors of Planetary Nebulae with [wr] Central Stars
We have analyzed ISO SWS 01 observations for 61 proto-planetary nebulae candidates and classified their spectra according to their dominant chemistry. On the basis of our classification and the more general classification of SWS01 spectra by Kraemer et al. (2002) we discuss the connection between proto-planetary nebulae candidates and planetary nebulae, with emphasis on possible precursors of p...
متن کاملPhotoionization models of roundish galactic planetary nebulae in the thick disk ⋆
We present the result of photo-ionizing modelling of the three planetary nebulae (PNe) A 20, A 15 and MeWe 1-3. All three objects are roughly roundish, highly excited and have a high galactic z. The PNe displayed low densities in the shell, but relatively dense halos. A low metallicity and a relative high electron temperature were found. Comparisons with radio observations confirmed the obtaine...
متن کاملChemical compositions and plasma parameters of planetary nebulae with Wolf - Rayet and wels type central stars ⋆
Aims. Chemical compositions and other properties of planetary nebulae around central stars of spectral types [WC], [WO], and wels are compared with those of 'normal' central stars, in order to clarify the evolutionary status of each type and their interrelation. Methods. We use plasma diagnostics to derive from optical spectra the plasma parameters and chemical compositions of 48 planetary nebu...
